Dress in the City

Accelerated at UR Link – Unibail-Rodamco’s structure developed in partnership with NUMA – the startup Dress in the City is scaling its service in some of the group’s shopping centres.

Introducing Unibail-Rodamco’s first commercial partnership generated by the UR Link accelerator: the group has just signed a contract with Dress in the City, a startup from the first promotion of the programme, to scale its project in some of the shopping centres managed by Unibail. It created a second-hand service, enabling users to buy and sell second-hand clothes and luxury accessories. The business, founded in 2015, succeeded in building a digital community around its application, and in evolving in the physical world by organising events linked to a brand, a universe or a location. There is a 30% commission on online sales, or during events – and 35% for the premium private service. Each product is associated with a connected antitheft device, developed by Exaqtworld, which can only be untied when the customer pays.

Thanks to this new partnership, the startup will have a major physical touchpoint – although the exact number of shopping centres they will have access to has yet to be defined. “This exclusive partnership offers Dress in the City an access to our customers and to our expertise”, Matthieu Nicoletti, Director of UR Link, explains. “On our side, the idea is to bring an innovative service to our customers.” As a matter of fact, the users who manage to sell their products via Dress in the City often spend their money in the shopping centre, resulting in new sources of revenue for the retailers of Unibail malls. Eventually, the real estate group might invest in Dress in the City.
